Systems created with video analytics and video surveillance technologies consist of three main components. The first of these consists of a set of video management server (VMS) software applications. They are used to acquire, archive and manage the entire flow of video data. At Ithel, we use those developed by the Danish software house Milestone. The video stream is generated by video cameras (hardware by Axis and Hikvision, of which we are partners), which constitute the system’s second component. The third is represented by video analytics software. This interprets the content of the images captured by the cameras and describes them by applying the appropriate metadata to the elements it identifies. For these purposes, we use third-party software available on the market or that which we develop internally.
